Aman Verma flagged that Mumbai University's CGPA formula had been repealed. We were still showing the old one.
On 4 May 2026, Aman Verma emailed [email protected] with a single observation: the (CGPA × 7.1) + 11 formula displayed on the Mumbai University calculator page at gradekar.com had been discontinued by the University of Mumbai under Circular No. Exam/Result/803 of 2026 (dated 1 January 2026), and the site was still showing it as the live conversion.
He attached the official circular PDF and the source link from mu.ac.in to support the correction. He was right.
Within the same week, gradekar.com:
- Added a repeal banner to the Mumbai University calculator page pointing forward to Circular 803, with the original formula retained for pre-2026 transcripts.
- Published a dedicated post on the circular and its implications for the 2026-onwards Mumbai University graduates, at gradekar.com/blog/mumbai-university-circular-803-2026 — Aman is credited by name as the source of the correction in the article's opening paragraph.
The correction matters because hundreds of Mumbai University students and alumni use GradeKar's CGPA conversion every month for placements, higher studies, and applications abroad. A discontinued formula left live sends students into application forms with the wrong percentage on their CV.
GradeKar.com is grateful for the contribution.
