How to Calculate Attendance Percentage

Attendance % = (Classes Attended ÷ Total Classes) × 100

Most Indian universities require a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible to sit for exams. Some universities and specific departments may require 80% or 85%.

If your attendance drops below the minimum, you may be:

  • Debarred from exams
  • Required to repeat the semester
  • Given a warning or notice from the department
  • Ineligible for scholarships or campus placements
