GTU CGPA to Percentage Calculator

First Class with Distinction at GTU requires a CPI of 7.50 or higher across all eight semesters (equivalent to 70% via the official Percentage = (CPI − 0.5) × 10 formula). Unlike Anna University, AKTU, or VTU, GTU's Notification 1/2012 does not condition Distinction on a first-appearance pass — a candidate who cleared backlogs in later semesters can still graduate with Distinction as long as the final CPI clears 7.50. First Class needs CPI 6.50; Second Class needs 5.50. GTU permits a maximum of 4 active backlogs at any time during the programme; beyond that the candidate is not allowed to continue. Per-subject pass mark is 35 (one of the lowest among Indian technical universities).
