Why compare two CGPAs?

An 8.0 CGPA at one university is not the same percentage as 8.0 at another. AKTU subtracts 0.75 first then multiplies by 10, so 8.0 reads as 72.5%. Anna University and VTU's current 2022 scheme just multiply by 10, giving 80%. CBSE multiplies by 9.5 for school-level results. So when you tell a friend "I got an 8.0", and they got an 8.0 too, your transcripts can end up showing different percentages — and recruiters look at the percentage, not the CGPA, when filtering candidates.

This page lets you put both sides next to each other using each university's own published formula, so the comparison is honest. It is also useful for what-if exploration: pin your current CGPA on the left, try different "next semester" CGPAs on the right, and see exactly how much the percentage moves.

The difference card at the bottom shows percentage-point delta (A − B). Positive means A is higher; negative means B is higher.
