Calcutta University Doesn't Give a "First Class". It Gives You a Letter and a Word.

CU converts with a plain CGPA × 10, so 8.2 CGPA is 82%. But it awards no First Class, Second Class, or Distinction — the regulation gives a letter grade (A++ to C) and a remark like "Very Good". The "First Class at CGPA 6.0" other sites quote is lifted from a postgraduate rule. Plus the CGPA 4.000 line that decides Honours vs General.

MAKAUT Gives You a DGPA, Not a Class. Here's What It Converts To.

MAKAUT (WBUT) uses (DGPA − 0.75) × 10, so DGPA 8.0 is 72.5%, not 80%. And it awards no First Class, no Distinction, no division — the calculator sites quoting "First Class at 6.50" are inventing it. What DGPA actually means, why an E grade isn't a fail, and the 6.75 you need for 60%.

Delhi University Doesn't Award "Distinction". It Has Three Divisions.

Every calculator site prints a "First Class with Distinction at 75%" for DU. It doesn't exist — Ordinance IX gives three Divisions and no Distinction. Plus the batch split most students miss: CBCS uses × 9.5 (8.0 = 76%), NEP/UGCF uses × 10 (8.0 = 80%). First Division starts at a CGPA of about 6.32.

SPPU CGPA to Percentage: Subtract 0.75 Before You Multiply

Circular 332/2020 says (CGPA − 0.75) × 10, so an 8.5 CGPA prints 77.50%, not 85%. The calculator sites quoting a plain × 10 or a × 8.9 outrank the circular itself. 60% needs 6.75, not 6.0. And Distinction needs 7.75 plus zero backlogs, including ones you cleared.

RGPV CGPA to Percentage: There's No Secret Conversion Certificate

RGPV's formula is a plain CGPA × 10, so 8.2 CGPA is exactly 82% — it's already on your grade card. The "conversion certificate pdf" everyone searches for is a manufactured panic. Distinction at 7.5, a clean 6.0 for the 60% placement line, and what WES actually wants instead.

Mumbai University Repealed Its CGPA Formula. Here's What to Put on Your Resume in 2026.

Circular Exam/Result/803 of 2026 killed the (CGPA × 7.1) + 11 formula on 1 Jan 2026. Conversion is now opt-in and actual-marks based. A 9.6 CGPA topper who used to print 79.16% now prints 93.17%. The three changes, the new certificate workflow, and what to write on a 2026 placement form.

Anna University CGPA Calculation: The × 10 Formula Is the Easy Part. The Distinction Rule Isn't.

Anna's CGPA × 10 is the simplest conversion in India. But First Class with Distinction needs 8.5 CGPA and zero arrears at first appearance — even cleared arrears disqualify you. R2021 grade scale, credit-weighted CGPA math, and the trap nobody mentions in first year.

AKTU CGPA to Percentage: Three Different Formulas Are Floating Around. Only One Is Right.

AKTU's own Twitter says CGPA × 10. The B.Tech Ordinance says (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. The registrar prints the ordinance one. The 7.5-point gap costs students placement slots every season.

VTU CGPA to Percentage: Why That 0.75 Subtraction Is Costing You More Than You Think

The (CGPA − 0.75) × 10 formula VTU ran from 2015 to 2018, where the subtraction came from, and why alumni on those schemes sat 0.75 CGPA behind Anna University students at every placement cutoff. (VTU's 2022 scheme dropped the 0.75.)
