SRM CGPA Calculator
Calculate your SRM Institute of Science and Technology SGPA from your subject grades and credits, using the official grade-point scale.
How SRM SGPA is calculated
SRM uses a credit-weighted grade-point average. Each subject's grade maps to a grade point, and each subject is weighted by its credits:
Your CGPA is then the credit-weighted average of every semester's SGPA. Once you have your CGPA, convert it to a percentage on the SRM converter (Percentage = CGPA × 10), or roll multiple semesters together with the SGPA to CGPA calculator.

SRM Grade Point Scale
| Grade | Marks Range | Grade Points |
|---|---|---|
| O | 91-100 | 10 |
| A+ | 81-90 | 9 |
| A | 71-80 | 8 |
| B+ | 61-70 | 7 |
| B | 56-60 | 6 |
| C | 50-55 | 5.5 |
| F | 0-49 | 0 |
Worked example — one SRM semester
Here is how the calculator turns a semester of SRM grades into an SGPA, using the SRM grade points above. Say you took five subjects:
| Subject | Grade | Grade Points | Credits | Points × Credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Subject 1 | O | 10 | 4 | 40 |
| Subject 2 | A+ | 9 | 3 | 27 |
| Subject 3 | A | 8 | 4 | 32 |
| Subject 4 | B+ | 7 | 3 | 21 |
| Subject 5 | B | 6 | 2 | 12 |
Add the last column (132) and divide by total credits (16): SGPA = 132 ÷ 16 = 8.25. A 8.25 SGPA converts to about 82.5% on the SRM formula (Percentage = CGPA × 10). Swap in your own grades and credits above for your real figure.
SRM CGPA Calculator — Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate my SRM SGPA from grades?
Multiply each subject's grade point by its credits, add those up, and divide by the total credits: SGPA = Σ(grade point × credits) ÷ Σ(credits). The calculator above does this for you once you pick a grade and enter credits for each subject. If you leave credits blank, it uses a simple average of the grade points.
What is the SRM grade-point scale?
SRM grades run from O (10 points, 91-100 marks) down to the lowest passing grade. The full table is above. The highest grade is O and a F grade carries 0 points.
How do I convert my SRM CGPA to a percentage?
SRM Institute of Science and Technology uses Percentage = CGPA × 10. For example, a CGPA of 8.5 is 85.00%. Use the SRM CGPA to Percentage calculator for your exact number.
What's the difference between SGPA and CGPA?
SGPA is your grade-point average for a single semester. CGPA is the credit-weighted average across all semesters completed so far. This page computes one semester's SGPA; combine multiple semesters into a CGPA with the SGPA to CGPA calculator, or read the full explainer on SGPA vs CGPA.
